HemoCue WBC Analyzer is a unique POCT system for quantitative determination of white blood cell (WBC) count. Based on proven and reliable HemoCue microcuvette technology, lab quality results are obtained from a finger stick in minutes. The HemoCue WBC system requires 10 µL of whole blood. The sample is taken from a finger-stick or a venous EDTA sample. A hemolyzing agent lyses the red cells in the microcuvette, while a staining agent colors the white cells. Then an image is taken of the stained white cells and the number of WBC is counted by image analysis. Unlike conventional testing methods, the HemoCue WBC system provides accurate results in about 3 minutes.
Benefits of HemoCue WBC System Accurate results in about 3 minutes White blood cell count in the range of 0.3-30.0 x 109/L Simple to operate No need to calibrate or adjust Convenient cuvette technology Capillary / venous samples can be used - 10 µL sample size Portable - AC adapter or battery operated Specifications HemoCue WBC Microcuvette determines the white blood cell count by hemolyzation of red cells and color staining of white cells. An image of the stained white cells is taken and the number of cells are counted in the HemoCue WBC Analyzer. Measuring range : 0.3-30.0 x 109/L (300-30000/mm3, 300-30000/µL) Measuring time : 3 minutes Sample volume : 10 µL Sample material : Capillary or venous (EDTA) whole blood Interfaces : RS 232 (printer) Quality control : Built-in self test Weight : 1.32 pounds (600g) with batteries installed Dimensions : 7.28 x 5.24 x 4.72 inches (185 x 133 x 120 mm) Power : 6 AA batteries or power adapter
The HemoCue Hemoglobin Determination systems provide an opportunity for quick, simple and reliable quantitative Hemoglobin results with the same performance as a large hematology analyzer. The dual wavelength photometers correct for lipemia, leucocytosis and other sources of turbidity. Any blood source (capillary, venous or arterial) can be used. The unbreakable, disposable cuvette collects the exact amount of blood and mixes the sample with the reagents automatically. The cuvette is placed into the portable analyzer. Results appear on the display screen in less than a minute.Benefits of HemoCue Hemoglobin Determination System Accurate results in less than a minute Uses only 10 µL of capillary, venous or arterial blood These are pre-calibrated & portable analyzers The system requires minimum maintenance Calibration or instrument manipulation between cuvette/reagent batches is not needed System compensates for turbidity due to lipids or leucocytosis, automatically Non-laboratory personnel can use it with a brief training session
